UNFURLING

Hello everyone. I took several weeks off of posting any updates here. I wrote something every week and just didn’t hit send.

I believe I am unfurling. Like a fern. Like spring. Spring is such an interesting time. We are coming out of winter. Dark, cold, hibernation…and here comes spring…we begin to build in anticipation of warmer, longer days…flowers blooming…hope. And yet…there is a back and forth. Hot then cold. It’s imbalanced almost and yet it’s part of the process. We dance with the back and forth of it all.

We are moving (again) in 3 weeks. So much of my energy is devoted to that right now.

I have been traveling a good bit as well as teaching.

The energy required to make art is a certain type of focus and discipline. It requires presence in a way that has at the moment abandoned me.

I have been doing some studies while I am at home. I got a small sketchbook and I mess around in that to try to just stay with the practice.

These studies are keeping me inspired and I have begun my next series of work. It’s looking like spring is making its way into my work. Lots of florals and spring pallets.

So, follow me on IG if you don’t already. I’ll be posting all the most up to date work there. I’m aiming for another series release in the Fall!! Maybe sooner. I just have two big moves ahead of me…house and studio.. so, stay tuned.
