“The Nature of Creativity” ….
I keep thinking about nature and our connection to it….our disconnection to it.
The above picture is myself and a fellow retreat member, Kelly, in the Sequoia National Forrest. We are taking burnt sequoia tree charcoal and making impressions of the tree….creativity meets nature…she and I met nature where it was, exactly as it was, in that moment. TOGETHER. Open to play and allowing curiosity to lead the way. Listening and responding to the inner whispers…
This is HOW I create. I trust. I stay present and open. I play with the ideas that come. There is a quiet expectantcy and a disciplined listening. I have practiced this ALL my life. I wasn’t always aware of it, but now I know it intimately. It is MY NATURE.
I am passionate about this and it is my offering to you and others.
I am opening myself up to teaching again. I am not certain what that means or looks like. I just know that when I was on retreat and taught a class again, it felt like something lit up inside me again. It’s where passion met purpose. It’s where I can share something I know that has and continues to be my guiding force in my life. A place to land within myself that informs my creativity and makes my life way more exciting. I am ready to share more of myself with others in hopes that it will better attune them to themselves and make for a fuller and more creative life. On a larger level, I hope that attuning better to oneself will help others to attune to nature and facilitate more groundedness in the world. It’s a dream…I’m taking steps towards my dreams, people!
